Howard Lee Burrous

TY TY — Howard Lee Burrous, 63, of Ty Ty died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The Rev. Jim Wiley and the Rev. Steve Tucker will officiate with a private burial to be held at a later date.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ridge Riders Trail Club. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Burrous was born on Aug. 27, 1949 in Lacine, Kan. and was the son of Arvil L. Burrous and Gladys Terry Burrous, both deceased. He was retired from the Tift County Landfill and of the Baptist faith. He was retired from the United States Marine Corps and was very devoted to the Marines and to his country. He loved horses and never met a stranger. He was also a devoted husband and father.

Mr. Burrous is survived by his wife, Darlene Sumler Burrous of Ty Ty; a son, Luke Burrous of Ty Ty; a brother, Terry E. Burrous of Adrian, Mo.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Verna J. Divine of Adrian, Mo. and Linda and Jim Switlik of Nevada, Mo.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ivey and Sue Sumler of Lagrange, Tobie and Clarice Sumler of Tifton, Boyd and Wanda Sumler of Tifton and Iris and Gene Scoggins of Haines City, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
