ASHBURN —
Margaret “Peggy” Hanbury Johnston, 87, of Ashburn died Friday, Sept. 3, 2010 at Tift Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ashburn First United Methodist Church, with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Perry Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Johnston was born in Inverness, Fla., and was the daughter of the late Jerry Cub and Laura Ann Parrish Hanbury. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ashburn, and an active member of the UMW and children’s activities. She was a long-time resident of Ashburn and enjoyed playing bridge, golf and being with her friends and family. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Laura J. Pearce, in 2002.
Mrs. Johnston is survived by her husband, Calvin F. Johnston Sr. of Ashburn; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Sharon Mills of Morriston, Fla., and Calvin F. “Vin” and Candace Johnston Jr. of Albany; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
