Melvin Joe Singletary

NASHVILLE —  Melvin Joe Singletary, 74, of Nashville died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at Cook Medical Center in Adel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Lawson officiating. Interment will be held at Vickers Cemetery. Visitation is from 7 to 9 tonight.

Mr. Singletary was born April 30, 1938 in Berrien County to the late Joe Eston Singletary and the late Dovie Luke. He was employed with Rest Easy Waste Pickup. He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Eston Singletary; a sister, Mary Loudell Williams; and a stepson, Lonnie Morrow.

He is survived by a son, Stanley Singletary of Dahlonega; a daughter, Norma Jean Jones of Dahlonega; a sister, Betty Taylor of Nashville; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three stepdaughters, Angie Filloon, Lonetta Schonbok and Brenda Belden; 11 step-grandchildren; and two very special friends, Brenda and David Herring.

Lovein Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
