NASHVILLE — John Woodrow “J.W.” Roland, 94, of Nashville died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009 at Berrien County Hospital . Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Vickers Church with the Rev. Billy Walker officiating and burial to follow at Vickers Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday morning prior to funeral services at Lovein Funeral Home.
Mr. Roland was born March 3, 1915 in Berrien County to the late John Thomas Roland and Eliza Easters. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae Walker Roland, who died in 2005; and two sons, James Vernon Roland and Earl Wayne Roland. He was a retired bulk gas delivery driver and a member of Vickers Church.
Mr. Roland is survived by his daughters, Grace Stone of Lakeland and Joyce Spradley of Kingsland; sons, John Woodrow Roland Jr. of Newberry, Fla., Johnny Roland of Phenix City, Ala., Donald Roland of Nashville, Larry Roland of Nashville, Russell Roland of Alapaha, Juanita Boyd of Ray City and Walton Roland of Homeland, Fla.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lovein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Concert to benefit breast cancer victims
The story of how cancer has had devastating effects on two women in one local family led a local musician to organize a benefit concert to be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Cypress Grill at Lake Blackshear. Donations may be made at the door or online at the “Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure” Web site.
