ALAPAHA — James Orman Rowe, 75, of Alapaha and St. Augustine, Fla., died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. David Beauchamp and the Rev. Mike Gibbs officiating. Burial will follow at Nashville Memorial Grdens.
Mr. Rowe was born Sept. 15, 1934 in Berrien County to the late James Herbert Rowe and the late Mary Alice Moore. He was a retired plant manager for ITT Thompson and vice-president and manufacturing consultant for Thompson International Inc. He was a member of the Crescent Beach Baptist Church in St. Augustine, Fla. He was a Mason and Shriner and a member of the Hasan Temple in Albany.
Mr. Rowe is survived by his wife, Jean Harper Rowe of Alapaha and St. Augustine, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Shari and Mike Kohli of Jacksonville, Fla.; graddaughter, India Kohli; step-grandchildren, Kevin and Jonathan and Maureen Kohli; and two brothers, Herman Cleo Rowe of Alapaha and Larry Vernon Rowe of Warner Robins.
Lovein Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.

Concert to benefit breast cancer victims
The story of how cancer has had devastating effects on two women in one local family led a local musician to organize a benefit concert to be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Cypress Grill at Lake Blackshear. Donations may be made at the door or online at the “Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure” Web site.
