Dot Conway

TIFTON — Dorothy Lee Miller “Dot” Conway, 82, longtime resident of Tifton, died Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with the Rev. Billy Sumner and the Rev. Ronnie Vice officiating. Burial will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors.

Ken Hardy, Tim Arnold, Shane Graves, Stephen Hickey, Earl Bishop, Junior Miller, Dale Trent and Danny Conway will serve as pallbearers.

Charles Cone, W. L. Martin, Ronnie Storey, Buddy Gill, Bill Parks, Jerry Conner, Cal Carpenter, Clint Carpenter, Fred Carpenter and Stan Carpenter will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Born April 10, 1927, in Guin, Ala., to the late William Preston Miller and Loran Conner Miller, Mrs. Conway was also preceded in death by her husband, Sam David Conway; three brothers, Coy Miller, Brady Miller and Johnny Miller; and three sisters, Earleen Hickman, Betty Burgess and Ruthie Georgeson.

Mrs. Conway had retired from J. P. Stevens and she was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, and she loved her family and God, and taking care of her grandchildren. Mrs. Conway was an avid Bible reader.

Mrs. Conway is survived by three sons and three daughters-in-law, Sammy and Donna Conway, Bobby and Carol Conway, and David and Carrie Conway, all of Tifton; two sisters, Ruby Eardeal Bishop of Moultrie and Anna Faye Tillman of McClenney, Fla.; special caregivers, Ruby Williams and Eula Mae Davis; her grandchildren, Pam Arnold, Sandy Trent, Mickie Hardy, Melanie Yamnitz, Kayla Conway, Angie Hickey, Shane Graves, Jennie Lynn Conway, Jamie Anne Conway and Tyler Snow; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Hospice of Tift Area, P. O. Box 747, Tifton, GA 31793. You may sign the online registry at www.albritton-beaumontfuneralhome.com. Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
