VALDOSTA — Mae Brogdon, 79, of Valdosta died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009 at Fellowship Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Vernon Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 8 tonight at Lovein Funeral Home in Nashville.
Mrs. Brogdon was born June 16, 1930 in Berrien County to the late Homer Warren and Toy Singletary. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Brogdon, who died in 1983. She was a homemaker and retired quality control technician with Nashville Mills. She was a member of Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Brogdon is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Edna and Wendell Boutwell of Valdosta; grandchildren, Julie Ehrenberg of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jodie Bryant of Valdosta; sister, Lettie Warren of Nashville; and brother, J.D. Warren of Andersonville.
Lovein Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.

Concert to benefit breast cancer victims
The story of how cancer has had devastating effects on two women in one local family led a local musician to organize a benefit concert to be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Cypress Grill at Lake Blackshear. Donations may be made at the door or online at the “Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure” Web site.
