TIFTON — Edna Celestine Kelley, 68, of Tifton, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church of Tifton with Dr. Glenn Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Milledgeville. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors.
Members of the Tifton Gideons Camp will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Beacon Sunday School Class of FUMC.
Mrs. Kelley was born July 29, 1941 in Lakeview, Ore., to the late James Edgar Pemberton and the late Ruth Eleanor Pemberton. Due to the death of her father and her birth mother's disability at a young age Cricket was adopted by the late Walter Carl Kraft and Rose Allen Kraft, who lives in Corvallis, Ore.
Mrs. Kelley was a resident of Tift County since 1980 where she was a school teacher for 26 years, 19 of which were spent at J. T. Reddick. Mrs. Kelley was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Tifton, volunteered with the Meals on Wheels, CASA, the soup kitchen, adult literacy program and the civilian police academy.
Survivors include her husband William (Bill) Kelley of Tifton; her two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter Charles Kelley and Sarah of Dumfries, Va., Don Michael Kelley and Rosann of Tucson, Ariz.; her sister, Gloria Hook of Beaverton, Ore.; and her brother, Lloyd Pemberton of Cincinnati, Ohio. She had five grandchildren whom she loved dearly. They are Liam, Amanda, Emma, Amber, and Ashley Kelley.
Mrs. Kelley asked that the following note of appreciation be added to her obituary: "Thank you for all the blossoms of love you showered me with while I was alive and could appreciate them."

Concert to benefit breast cancer victims
The story of how cancer has had devastating effects on two women in one local family led a local musician to organize a benefit concert to be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Cypress Grill at Lake Blackshear. Donations may be made at the door or online at the “Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure” Web site.
