TIFTON — Frances Marion Alton Waller, 89, of Ty Ty died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Jim Duggan will officiate with burial to follow at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro. Clay Kelley, Caleb Douglas, Stephen Martens, Kevin Martens, Dustin Martens and Jordan Martens will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Waller was born Nov. 5, 1920 in Griffin and was the daughter of Walter Alton and Irene Alton, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Emory Spear Waller; two brothers; three sisters; and one grandson, Lance Waller. She was a homemaker and a member of Ty Ty Baptist Church.
Mrs. Waller is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Walt and Genene Waller of Ty Ty, Jerry and Ruth Waller of Villa Rica and Tommy Waller of Langley, S.C.; eight grandchildren, Robin Short, Debbie Griffin, Tammy Waller, Sabrina Douglas, Heather Darr, Shelley Owen, Clay Kelley and April Dashiell; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Concert to benefit breast cancer victims
The story of how cancer has had devastating effects on two women in one local family led a local musician to organize a benefit concert to be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Cypress Grill at Lake Blackshear. Donations may be made at the door or online at the “Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure” Web site.
