Rant and rave for July 3

Efforts appreciated

“Thank you to Clay Carpenter and Brad with CityNet. They worked very hard at getting my system back up and running and I really appreciate all they did!”

Point of freedom

“T.E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) in his book, 'The Seven Pillars of Wisdom' noted that the effort to free the Arabic people from Turkish rule was accomplished not when the last battle had been won but when the majority of the Arabic people no longer accepted Turkish rule as legitimate. At that point they were free. It only remained for them to stay loyal to their beliefs in freedom long enough for the struggle to work out the details of when and how the Turks would leave. The same point today for us in America.”

Rare breed

“A rave for James Scarberry, his brother Lloyd and rest of the crew for a job well done! They are tree removal specialists and very skilled at what they do. Hard-working folks! These folks are a rare breed and should be appreciated for the risk they take and their hard work.”

Dignity & honor

“I wouldn't have a problem with socialism if everyone had dignity and honor. You wouldn't believe the number of able-bodied people I see at my job trying to get on disability. The sad thing is that the people who need help the most rarely ask. I don't mind funding socialism and helping people get on their feet, but being forced to pay for ... people to stay home and abuse the system is absurd.”
