Have to laugh
“The democrats want to ban guns because they are used to kill children. You have to kind of laugh if you don't get mad first, when you consider they are adamant about keeping it legal to kill children by getting an abortion. Thousands are murdered every year by women and their doctors and the Democrats see nothing wrong with that. They call it a "woman's reproductive right". Abortion kills more innocent children than a human with a gun.”
Look at the intent
“People trying to interpret the Constitution often look to the intent of the framers of that document. When doing that with the Second Amendment, one can conclude that we are all entitled to possess our own musket.”
Doesn’t understand
“I was surprised to see Thomas Sowell criticizing history teachers in the very same article in which he seems so intent on playing one. Who do you think is more likely to be interested in indoctrinating our children: a history teacher or a political ideologue pretending to be one?”

Letter to the Editor for May 15
As a grandson of Henry Harding Tift and a long-time resident of Tift County, I would like to tip my hat to Edd Dorminey for the pivotal role he played in petitioning the state legislature to officially recognize the original intent that Tift County be named in honor of Capt. Tift.
