This is dangerous
“Since the shootings in Newtown, Conn., I read in the Tifton Gazette that an 18- year-old male reported that two shotguns were stolen out of his truck at a high school basketball game. Why would he carry shotguns to basketball game? This is dangerous.”
Great dancers
“I really enjoyed watch- ing the young ladies from the dance studio in Ashburn perform at the basketball halftime. They looked classy and professional — very en- tertaining! Great job instruc- tor and dancers!”
Not logical
“‘It's a right’ says he does- n't need a logical argument against gun control since the Second Amendment gives him the right to possess guns. He is correct. That was the holding of the Supreme Court and there is nothing logical about it.”
Thanks for helping
“David and Dave very much appreciate the help of Janie Rousey and the staff at DFACS. Her patience, hu- mor, kindness and profes- sional demeanor are an as- set to those of us struggling to accept governmental as- sistance and retain our sense of pride.

Letter to the Editor for May 15
As a grandson of Henry Harding Tift and a long-time resident of Tift County, I would like to tip my hat to Edd Dorminey for the pivotal role he played in petitioning the state legislature to officially recognize the original intent that Tift County be named in honor of Capt. Tift.
