China no threat
“Interesting that Romney says that China is a great country with a 15 percent corporate tax rate. China is a totalitarian, communist state. Romney was partially right when he said that Russia is a serious national security threat; only Russia is not a threat to the U.S. They are a threat to the Chinese.”
Fired up
“The ABAC Democrats had an Obama-themed hay bale that was set on fire on campus. While I’m no Obama supporter, I think this is terribly disrespectful to the kids that spent time and money decorating it. I really hope ABAC takes this potential arson seriously.”
Thanks ladies
“I want to commend the nurses at Tiftarea Urology, especially Renee and Sherry. Thank you for all you do and for being so kind to your patients. Love you both.”
Take responsibility
“Clearly I did not read a Rant about a child’s bad behavior towards his mother over a difference of opinion is the president’s fault. That sir falls directly into your lap. You are the father and if you allow your son to speak to your wife, his mother, with disrespect over any issue, then that failure is all yours.”
Go with the flow
“The red lights at Second Street and Central Avenue need to be corrected for the flow of traffic. Check it out for yourself. Have a blessed day.”

Letter to the Editor for May 15
As a grandson of Henry Harding Tift and a long-time resident of Tift County, I would like to tip my hat to Edd Dorminey for the pivotal role he played in petitioning the state legislature to officially recognize the original intent that Tift County be named in honor of Capt. Tift.

A day late and a dollar short...sort of
I caught a lot of flack the past couple of days because, and I quote, “You write a column and you didn’t write about your mom for Mothers Day?”Yeah. Um. Just yeah.
