Giving thanks
“I had a baby on Thanksgiving Day at Tift Regional Medical Center and the staff there was just wonderful. I mean, it was Thanksgiving and everybody made me feel good and comfortable and whatever you wanted, they were all nice and polite. I just think they deserve to be thanked for that.”
The potential’s there
“No. The students don’t get every privilege as the principal and teacher and the meal thing would be a disaster for many reasons: I can’t find my lunch, I forgot my sandwich — can I go to Burger King and get another? I don’t like this, you wanna trade? Can I go out to my car and get my lunch, I forgot it? (And while I am there, make a few phone calls and smoke a few cigarettes?)”
Go Big Blue
“I just wanted to say how proud I am of the Tift County Blue Devils! I moved to North Georgia in 1991 and I just moved back in 2001, and I am so proud of my home team. This year I have only missed one game and I am so proud of the team. They are so great and I’m happy to say that I am proud to be a Devil fan. I call my daughter every Friday night after the game to let her know we won. She lives in Woodstock, Ga., so we can’t wait to go to the Dome to win. Go Big Blue. When I was in high school, Coach Brodie was the coach, so it has been many years.
Read carefully
“Every professional profession allows their employees to eat lunch somewhere else. Make sure you read that carefully. A professional is one with at least a four-year college degree. There may be an exception to the rule, but 98 percent get to eat out. The problem with America is whiny parents wanting to be their child’s friend instead of their parent. Quit perpetuating the hate!”
A blessing
“Thanks to the respiratory therapist at TRMC that helped me and my child in the ER on Thursday night, Nov. 23. She was a big help and also took her time and showed us that she really cared about us. She didn’t treat us like just another patient that she didn’t have much time for!! You are a blessing. Jody, thanks for your help and we hope you go far in life!!”
All included?
“I see a large ad in your paper from the City asking that yard trash not be blown into the street. Does this include businesses that routinely blow parking lot trash into the street onto cars that are passing by?”
