“This is a Rave for our Tift County Blue Devils. They are already gearing up for another great season of football. Today these young men are football players, but tomorrow they will be our community leaders. They may be members of the board of education, commission seats, local government and businessmen. Looks great

“I would like to say the new look for the Elks Club is great. Let us get new members, and please do your best to keep smokers outside.”

Spend more,

pay more

“Let’s lobby for exemptions on food/clothes for seniors in relation to the fair tax system. For everyone else, if you have money to buy CDs or cigarettes, go to the movies, or get your nails done you should pay taxes. Those who spend more pay more tax. If you want to pay less tax spend less.”

Everywhere

“Complaining about livestock in the city, they should live in Enigma. There’s livestock everywhere, goats, cows and hogs...”

Real citizens

“I was shocked to read in The Tifton Gazette’s Today in History section that in 1924 Congress passed a measure and President Coolidge signed it granting citizenship to all U.S.-born American Indians. Our ancestors invaded their land, killed many of them and stole and drove them from their lands and apparently declared them non-citizens. I ask, who were the real citizens?”
