Question
“I like to have a drink or two, have never committed an alcohol-related offense and understand that moderate drinking even has some health benefits. My question: Why should responsible drinkers, of whom there are many, be lumped together with drunk drivers in paying some enhanced tax on alcoholic beverages?”
Something for nothing?
“If I worked all my life paying in to Social Security and then I reached the age when I can draw a check off of it, and I’m probably going to die before I can even draw back out what I paid in to it, how is this socialism? I mean, because my definition of socialism is receiving something for nothing and this is definitely not receiving something for nothing.”
Screaming foul
“This is to the ‘High ground.’ I think you need to do a fact check. First of all, the Israeli government has not violated any Oslo peace accords. Secondly, the Israelis are the only true ally we have in the Middle East. The Israelis over the years have given the Palestinians millions and millions of dollars. During the 1990s they even gave them arms so they could start their own police force and also the world has given the Palestinians millions and millions of dollars to start a government. Every bit of that money has wound up in the hands of Hamas, who constantly launch rocket attacks on Israel. Then when Israel finally gets enough and goes in to clean out these rocket attackers, the world screams foul once again.”
