Rants and raves for October 2

Be responsible

“If you own a dog, you need to realize you are responsible for keeping that dog under control. This may be done by using a fenced-in yard, underground electric fence, pen, leash or your verbal command when you have the dog out and about. NOBODY should allow their dogs to run at large. Victims of animal/property attack or destruction by your dog should not have to suffer or pay the consequences of your negligence and irresponsibility. The commissioners and law officials need to do their part in establishing/maintaining/enforcing leash laws to the benefit of everyone. Those people who don't keep their dogs under control can contribute to the city/county coffers by paying fines for their irresponsibility. BE RESPONSIBLE OR PAY UP! The victims should not have to pay the consequences for your lack of action.”

Well done

“Congratulations to Officer Daughtrey on his recognition for a job ‘well done!’ We need more like him in this area.”

One purpose

“Guns have one purpose — to kill people and animals. Many people in this country maintain a frontier mentality about the subject for whatever reason. Like Tom Selleck says in ‘Quigley Down Under,’ ‘This ain't Dodge City and you ain't Bill Hickok.’”

Thank-you Rant

“I would just like to say a big thank you to William Byrd for the letter that he wrote in today, Thursday. I think more people need to know about this issue. And again I thank William Byrd for taking the time to write his letter.”

God bless

“To the ones that stole the two cases of Deer Park water out of my truck Wednesday night at Tift Regional, may God bless you. If you had asked I would have given to you.”

When?

“I asked this question back in June, six months into Obama’s administration. I’ll ask it again now that we’re nine months in. When can we start blaming him and the Democrats for the economic mess we’re in?”

Good job

“This is a thank you to Dr. Willie Miles for the way he runs his school. You can always see him, whether you have an appointment or not. His door is open. He cares about his students. He supports his faculty. Big thank you, Dr. Miles.”

No more czars

“We don’t need any more czars who have to only answer to the president. What we need are some patriots who will answer to the people.”

Choral support

“This is a Rave for Darby Veazey and her State Farm office. We thank you for your continued support of the Tift County Choral Show Choir department. Your generosity has not gone unnoticed. Thanks again for your support of the Tift County Show Choir department.”
