Rant and Rave for Nov. 1

Make a plan

“People will buy locally when it is cost-effective to do so. These are trying times and most people have to watch every penny. Locally the problem seems to be that there is no clear-cut plan for future growth. Tourism is not the answer. Tifton becoming a retirement community is not the answer. If either of these plans were workable then they would have worked by now.”

Many thanks

“I just had surgery on the 28th of October. I would like to THANK Karla for a great job. You helped me in so many ways. I can’t forget about Jacob for making me laugh before my surgery. THANK YOU ! THANK YOU!”

Fed up

“People in this country are really fed up with our national politicians. It's time to implement my plan to vote against all incumbents. Since the Constitution won't be amended, it's our only hope for change. We can institute our own version of term limitations.”

Insight

“Thank you, Terry L. Taylor, for having excellent insight into what's really wrong in this country. The bigger the government the more trouble we're in.”

Sad situation

“On television and in the news media I see where we have crime all over America. I remember a city that I lived in right here in Georgia where I walked the streets in the dead of night and felt safe. Today I’d feel safer on a battlefield than I would in that city. The thing about a battlefield is you can always defend yourself. If you do that in the States, you’ll be facing jail time. I don’t know what this country is coming to.”

Think about it

“How can people continue to rant about losing jobs and yet every two years continue to return politicians to office that supported NAFTA and GAFTA. Yes, I am talking about Sanford Bishop. His vote cost you many, many jobs. Think about this next election year. Your unemployment checks for a year don't equal one of his monthly checks.”
