Rants and Raves for November 6

Much appreciated

“I want to send a big Rave to Colt at PlantNet. Thank you for your amazing customer service and much appreciated help.”

Right & wrong

“Sgt. Daniel Evers, thanks for your service and great opinion piece. You are right and I for one will not sit on the sideline quietly accepting the things that are going on. I am awake and engaging the weak mindset we have been lead to believe is mainstream. There is right and there is wrong, as you say, and I will do what I can to stand for what is right as defined by God. You be careful over there and come home safe to your family and hopefully a stronger, smarter country in the near future.”

Into oblivion

“ ‘Explain that’, you're right. There is no significant difference between the Democrats and Republicans. They have all found out that they can use the public treasury to buy votes and will spend us into eventual oblivion. Watch out for the time that the dollar is no longer considered an international monetary standard. It will be too late after that.”

Check your flags

“Wednesday, Nov. 11 is Veterans Day. I urge all homeowners, businesses, city and county government offices to inspect their flags and replace them if they are worn. We can show our pride and honor our troops by flying a beautiful flag on this special day.”

Keeping score

“I can’t tell you what all these banks are doing with the TARP money that they received, but I can tell you two things they’re doing for sure: They’re not loaning a whole lot of it to the taxpayer from whence it came, and they’re using a lot of it to purchase other things, like I-75 heads north. So let’s look at the score here. Big government, big corporations, Wall Street 1, taxpayer 0.”

Science Club

“Thank you to Patti Gordon and Jackie Tipper for the after-school Science Club at Eighth Street Middle School. My daughter loved it and can’t wait until the next meeting.”

Sneak peek

“We can look at the swine flu vaccine lack and have a nice picture of what government-run health care will look like. We have lines all over this country. We’ve had encouragement from every media source that we must have our swine flu vaccine, but there is none. The government has had well over a year to make sure that the vaccine was available, and this is just one little sneak peek as to how things are going to be run...”

Excellent job

“This is a Rave for Terry Taylor’s response in the paper, ‘The enemy is us.’ He did an excellent job. Thank you to Mr. Taylor.”
