Big Rave
“A big Rave for Theater Professor John Galyean and the Baldwin Players out at ABAC. Their production of Lee Blessing's play ‘Two Rooms’ was moving, very timely and thought provoking.”
Too harsh
“I thought that Hayward Fowler’s letter to the editor was too harsh. While I may agree with him concerning the debt of CityNet, I do not think it should have been that personal. I do not believe that Joe Lewis or Dave Hetzel or any of the other representatives felt that they were leading the city of Tifton the wrong way. I think they thought they were doing the right thing at the time.”
The bottom line
“You can try to defend CityNet all you want to, but the bottom line is it has broken the City of Tifton which was once a vibrant, solvent government to what it is now, to where it’s having to furlough its employees to make it through the fiscal year.”
Heartfelt thanks
“My heartfelt thanks to Dr. King at Quailwood Animal Hospital. Her compassion and words of comfort were much appreciated and helpful at a very sad time. Quailwood is very fortunate to have a fine caring person like Dr. King on their staff. Any pet is so lucky to be under her care. Thank you again, Dr. King, for giving your best to our dog, Pepper.”
Clipped wings
“Well, I see on television where many people are blaming the FBI and the military for what happened at Fort Hood. The fact is, the people to blame are the people in Washington that we’re paying a lot of money to to protect this country and it’s reached a point to where they’ve clipped the wings of the FBI to where they don’t dare to make an accusation against somebody unless they really can prove it or get permission from higher-ups to do so. The military, the same thing. You have some good generals that know that we have many people in the military that are ineffective that are drawing money and are not earning it, but they can’t say anything because if they do the politicians will get them...”
Good deed
“I would like to thank Mr. Baldree. On yesterday, 11/11, he assisted me at the post office while I was locked out of my car. I want to thank him for allowing me to use his cell phone to make the calls that I needed to get back in my car, and he kind of stuck there with me until they actually got there to take care of my car. So I really appreciate him doing that. Thank you.”
Community support
“R.L. Mack HeadStart Center would like to give a Rave to Mr. Earl McQuaid, the general manager at Staples. They were nice enough to donate the center’s eraser and cork boards. We would also like to give a Rave to Brian Campbell of Class of ‘89. He donated eraser boards to the center. Thank you all so much for your community support.”
