The best
“We wanted to thank the person who brought us cookies for the holidays; the chocolate chips were the best! We really enjoyed them. May God bless you.”
Not so funny
“I read the article (online) about Mr. Carter and was impressed with his down-home humorous side. However, I was not impressed when he called people racist that didn't agree with Mr. Obama's healthcare bill, and to me that was not humorous at all. It was blatant politics of the worst kind.”
Acts of goodwill
“After numerous wars between the Indians and whites, Quanah Parker was the Comanche Chief, and he signed the treaty to move to Comanche Indians to the Indian Reservation, presently, Oklahoma. Nevertheless, Texans gained an appreciation of the Comanche culture and named a small community in the Texas Panhandle after Quanah Parker. In other Western states the contributions of the Indians have also been recognized. These acts of goodwill and understanding give hope that people worldwide will eventually acquire the insight of respecting other peoples’ cultures and religions and have fewer wars.”
Parking close
““Mrs. Mashburn, when you see those Tifton police cars parked in the fire zone it’s because they’re inside arresting somebody who has broken the law. It only makes sense to park as close you can, because sometimes those folks become combatant.”
No. 1
“We want to thank the Parkers in Eldorado for an awesome job again on their Christmas lights. Our kids’ eyes just light up whenever we see them. Thank you again. You are No. 1.”
