Attack among incidents reported

TIFTON — Local law enforcement agencies recently responded to several incidents, including an alleged robbery and burglaries.

According to an incident report filed at the Tifton Police Department, a 53-year-old woman from Mascotte, Fla. reported early Friday morning that after leaving the “82 East Truck Stop,” two black males followed her as she walked west on U.S. Highway 82 and then turned on West Fifth Street, reaching South Park Avenue.

She told police that upon reaching the corner of South Park Avenue, one of the black males, who had a goatee with rubber bands and was wearing a stocking cap and a gray hoodie, brandished a knife and stated that he would cut her pocket out and cut her throat. As he forced her to the ground, the suspect took her money from the front, left pocket of her jacket by cutting the pocket, the woman reported.

She further told police that the other black male was stocky and was riding a blue bicycle with white wall tires.

The report states that both subjects were seen leaving south on Park Avenue and had been in the truck stop prior to the attack.

The woman had a minor busted upper lip and torn/cut jacket, the report states. It also states that the woman was very intoxicated and was staying at a local motel during her stay in Tifton.
