TIFTON — Over 300 athletes from all over Georgia participated in the second annual Blue Devil Invitational track-and-field meet held Saturday in Tifton.
The Tift County Lady Devils, led by senior Amber McKenzie, won the girls meet with a total of 126.75 points. In the boys meet, the Devils finished third with 68 points, as Bainbridge won 135.5 points.
In the girls meet, McKenzie won the shot put and discus. Destini Byrd also won the long jump.
Winners for the Devils were Casey Denny in the pole vault, Hunter Honeycutt in the 3200m run, and 4x800m relay team of Honeycutt, Christian Neal, Zabreon Mack and Daniel Cordova.
Noelle Okongwu, second; Shauntonia Campbell, third; and Jasmine Randall, fourth, also placed for the Lady Devils in the shot put.
Kimbrianna Clark took third in the discus for the Lady Devils, while Campbell finished fifth.
Laken Johnson was eighth in the long jump.
Jessica Covington was second in the triple jump, while Byrd was fifth. Covington also finished second in the high jump, while Tionna Barnes and Alexandria Covington finished in a tie for seventh.
Cobrea Smith was second in the pole vault, while Gabriela Rivera was fourth.
Quadreka Burgess third in the 300m hurdles. Ginger Gatewood was fifth in the 800m run, and Kiara Bennett was sixth.
Byrd, Jessica Covington, Johnson and Byrd was fifth in the 4x100m relay.
Bennett was second in the 1600m run, and Ginger Gatewood was eighth.
Byrd was third in the 400m run, and Chastini Byrd was fourth.
Gatewood, Bennett, Kendal King an Ebonie Hurley was second in the 4x800m relay.
Destini Byrd was eighth in the 100m dash.
Burgess was fifth in the 100m hurdles, and Chastini Byrd, Bennett, Johnson and Destini Byrd was sixth in the 4x400m relay.
For the Devils, A’Kail Parker was second in the shot put, while Michael Coney was third.
Keavon May was sixth in the long jump, while Aaron White was fourth in the pole vault.
Neal was seventh in the 800m run, and the 4x100m relay team of Romaz Jones, Zimmie Mack, May and White was eighth.
Mack was eighth in the 400m run, and seventh in the 100m dash.
Neal was fifth in the 1600m run.
Jakevin Jackson was sixth, and Michael Coney was eighth in the 110m hurdles.
May, Mack, Greg Smith and Young was fifth in the 4x400m relay.

Lady Devils play Region 1-AAAAA opener tonight
The Tift County Lady Devils will open up the Region 1-AAAAA basketball tournament tonight at 6 against the Coffee High Lady Trojans.
That game will be followed at 7:30 p.m. by the Colquitt County High Packer-Coffee High Trojan boys contest.
The entire region tournament will be played at the Tift County High Arena. -
Lady Panthers advance to GISA state playoffs
The Tiftarea Lady Panthers will play Stratford Academy in Macon Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. as they advance to the first round of state. Beating Calvary of Columbus Tuesday night, the Lady Panthers had to play the Deerfield Windsor Knights Friday in the region semi-finals held at ABAC.
