South Georgia Shootout to be held

TIFTON — The third-annual South Georgia Shootout will be held on March 20 at Lowndes High School, beginning at 7 p.m. with the girls All-Star game.

Following the girls’ game, the boys’ game will take place at 8:30 p.m.

Over 50 seniors will take part in the 2010 South Georgia Shootout.

Athletes expected to play of the girls’ North team are: Jenna Kennedy and Lucresha Fuller from Wilcox County; Careisha Glover, Jac’keria Sanders and Carneisha Glover from Dooly County; Monique Grant from Crisp County; T’Keyah Chevers and Demetria King from Turner County; Keyanna Mitchell from Fitzgerald High and Shareena Coley, Kamara Bembry and Ykeisha Baker from Hawkinsville High.

The team will be coached by Santita Coon from Wilcox County.

The South team includes: Kristin Darling, Amanda Harper and Jasmine Copeland from Lowndes High; Alisha Crawford, Amber Phillips and Mykia McKinnon from Valdosta High; Amber McKenzie from Tift County; Vaneesha Paulk, Auje Wilson and RaeRae Bailey from Coffee High; Shaniqua Jones from Clinch County; KeArrow Jenkins from Lanier County, and Alexa Trocinski from Open Bible Christian School.

The South girls will be led by Lowndes head coach Shan Garner.

Athletes expected to play on the North boys’ team are: Camerion Moses, Jarvis Tinsley and Darrien Brown from Hawkinsville High; Latravious Stewart and Steve Hughes from Fitzgerald High; Lonnie Outlaw from Wilcox County; Jabioas Glenn and Ben Miller from Dooly County; Casadeyoun Jackson from Crisp County; and Markevion Teague, Demonte Madison and Chris Spears from Turner County.

Rebel head coach Ken Austin will coach the team.

The South team includes: Justin Mayfield, Robert Powell, Brian Moore and Moses Mitchell from Lowndes High; Justin Sanders and Trevis Simpson from Coffee High; BJ Henry from Cook High; Devon Hunt from Lanier County; Nate Hill from Colquitt County; Charlie Gillis and Keenan Thomas from Atkinson County; and Colby Neloms, Vernon Moore, Rod Downs and Jerome Graydon from Tift County.

Kendrick Moody from Atkinson County will coach the South boys.

Admission for the event is $10.
