TIFTON — The Tift County Blue Devils will host the North Gwinnett Bulldogs in the third round of the state Class AAAAA football playoffs Friday.
The Bulldogs (11-1) defeated Etowah 31-7 in the second round Saturday. The Devils defeated Union Grove 38-23 in the second round Friday.
The Blue Devils, the No. 1 seed from Region 1-AAAAA, will host the game in Tifton since the Bulldogs are the lower-seeded team as the No. 2 seed from Region 7-AAAAA.
North Gwinnett's only loss of the season was a 31-10 beating at the hands of No. 1 Norcross. Tift and North Gwinnett share one common opponent — Collins Hill. Tift beat Collins Hill 7-2 early in the season while North Gwinnett beat the team 20-6.
