TIFTON — There is a lot going on as the Tift County Blue Devils prepare to go to Atlanta to face the Roswell High Hornets Saturday at the Georgia Dome in a 6 p.m. state Class AAAAA semifinal football game.
Here is a look at some of the things that are going on around town in preparation.
— Tickets are currently on sale at the high school office. The tickets are $15 each and can be purchased from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. until Thursday. On Friday, the tickets will be sold from 8:30 a.m.-noon.
Tickets will also be on sale at the Georgia Dome box office. All tickets are general admission and are good throughout the day.
— The Tift County Touchdown Club has chartered two buses for the trip to Atlanta.
The cost will be $25 per seat and each bus holds 56 seats.
Club President Richard Payne said the buses will leave between noon-1 p.m. The buses are then expected to arrive at the Georgia Dome between 3-4 p.m.
The buses are then scheduled to leave 45 minutes after the game is completed.
— You can also still help out the Tift County football team by joining the Touchdown Club. Membership forms are available at the www.tiftcountyfootball.com Web site.
— The Touchdown Club is also taking orders for Boston butts. The cost is $25 per butt. The orders will be taken until Friday and the butts can be picked up at the Tift County Field House on Dec. 22 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

— For those of you that would want a “Devil Walk” memento on your trip, One Vision Media Group is offering “Devil Walk” sweat suits that will be in stock Thursday. The adult sizes are $25 and the youth sizes are $20. You can call 382-8801 to place an order or for more information.
— One Vision Media Group and WTIF-FM are also teaming up for the Coach Jay Walls’ Moe’s Call-In Show tonight at Moe’s. The show will be broadcast live on WTIF-FM and will also be taped for broadcast on WONE-TV, channel 96.
— Finally, One Vision Sports will also be chartering a bus for the trip.
Called “The Ultimate Fan Experience”, the tickets are $35 apiece. The bus will leave the Tifton Mall parking lot in front of the old Winn Dixie building at noon and will return after the game.
Lunch and snacks will be served on the bus and all riders will also be invited to a tailgate party at the Dome upon arrival.

Barrentine does well on junior rodeo circuit
Brady Barrentine competed this past weekend in the Southern Junior Rodeo Finals in Ocala, Fla. This was his first year competing in the SJRA's rodeo season. He competed all year long in the breakaway roping, tie-down calf roping, team roping, ribbon roping and chute dogging.

Blazers win NCAA Division II national softball title
The Valdosta State Blazers are the 2012 NCAA Division II Softball National Champions after an impressive 4-1 victory over defending champion UC San Diego. The championship is Valdosta State’s sixth overall championship and first in softball. The win also marks the first softball national championship for the Gulf South Conference.

Courtney Albritton named All-American
Albritton took VSU and the entire Gulf South Conference by storm in just her freshman season. She was named the GSC's Freshman and Player of the Year while leading the conference in most categories.
