TIFTON — To prepare for Saturday’s state Class AAAAA semifinal against Roswell, the Tift County Blue Devils football team practiced at Valdosta’s Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.
Bazemore-Hyder’s Sprintturf is similar to surface at the Georgia Dome, which will host Saturday’s contest.
“Practice went real well,” Tift head coach Jay Walls said. “We had such a good practice, coach (Ben) Simmons put in for us to come down here to practice every Thursday from here on out.”
While the Devils were practicing in Valdosta, the last tickets for Saturday’s game were being sold at the Tift County High School office.
Tift officially sold out its’ 2,000-allotment for the game during the day on Thursday.
“Folks can still get tickets at the Georgia Dome box office,” Walls said. “The tickets are all general admission, so there is no advantage for all ready having your ticket.”
The tickets at the box office will be the same price as they were at Tift County High School, $15.
— The Tift County Touchdown Club still has room on buses that will be making the trip.
The cost will be $25 per seat and there are 15 seats left.
Club President Richard Payne said the buses will leave between noon-1 p.m. The buses are then expected to arrive at the Georgia Dome between 3-4 p.m.
The buses are then scheduled to leave 45 minutes after the game is completed.
— The Touchdown Club is also taking orders for Boston butts. The cost is $25 per butt. The orders will be taken until today and the butts can be picked up at the Tift County Field House on Dec. 22 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
If you are interested in the buses or purchasing a Boston Butt, please contact Payne at 392-5339, Shirley Wilson at 392-5659 or Melanie Roberson at 821-0074.
— OneVision Media Group will be sponsoring a tailgate party at the Georgia Dome.
There will be live entertainment and food. Lil’ TRILL will be a part of that entertainment.
The party will be at the northside drive across from the Dome. Look for OneVision Media Group banners.
The cost is $10.
To reserve a spot at the party, call 382-8801. To find the party location in Atlanta Saturday, call 256-1230.
