Wrestling fund raiser set for Diana Olade Saturday

By Steve Carter/Sports Editor

TIFTON — Professional wrestlers are paid to be mean, but a group of local grapplers are going to prove they can also be generous tomorrow.

A card will be held at the New River Flea Market. Admission is free, but there will be representatives from the Harvest of Hope Foundation will be on hand to collect money for 6-year old Diana Olalde.

Diana is suffering from leukemia and is in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant. She is currently in the hospital in Macon and the Harvest of Hope Foundation is trying to raise money for her treatment, the cost of which is already in the $500,000 range.

Wrestling fans can show up early to meet some of the wrestlers, which will include Tifton’s Dave Holiday and Jake Slater.

Any donations are tax-deductible. For more information on that, you can call 1-888-922-4673 or send an e-mail to this address, kellerhope@cox.net. The Web site for Harvest of Hope is www.harvestofhope.net.

Turner Painting and the Harvest of Hope Foundation is sponsoring the card tomorrow.

Besides the wrestling card, you may also purchase Sweetwater Organic Coffee Special Blend, which is $20 for a 12-ounce bag. The proceeds will go to Diana and for more information, call Kem Rodriguez at 339-1617.
