TIFTON — The opponents were different, but the results were the same as the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College tennis teams got a sweep in Friday afternoon action. In the mens matchup against Itawamba (Miss.) Community College, the Stallions won by a 9-0 score, while the Fillies secured an 8-1 win over the Lady Jaguars of Georgia Perimeter.
In mens doubles action, Paul Fitzgerald and Oliver Smith won by an 8-4 score at No. 1, while at No. Evandro Rosindo and Matt Holland, also won 8-4.
At No. 3 doubles, Justin Flynn and Drew Marshall secured an 8-0 win.
In singles, Fitzgerald won by a 6-2, 6-0 score at No., and Rosindo won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2.
At No. 3, Holland garnered a 6-0, 6-0 win, and at No. 4, Smith won by a 6-0, 6-1 score.
Marshall won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 singles, and at No. 6 Pedro De Angeli won 6-3, 6-1.
Monika Lalewicz and Lindsay Jacobs were both under the weather for the Fillies, but ABAC pulled together to get the win in the womens match.
In the No. 1 doubles match, Kedi Magakgala and Chade’ Scott won 9-7, and at No. 2, Calli Robinson and Brooke Anglin won by an 8-5 score.
Nicole Hall and Lalewicz won by default at No. 3 doubles.
Magakgala won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.
Robinson captured a 2-6, 6-0, 7-5 win at No. 2 singles for the Fillies, and Hall won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4.
Anglin won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 singles, and Jacobs got a win by default at No. 6 singles.
The Fillies will be back in action today at 2 p.m. in a home match against Florida Community College at Jacksonville.

Barrentine does well on junior rodeo circuit
Brady Barrentine competed this past weekend in the Southern Junior Rodeo Finals in Ocala, Fla. This was his first year competing in the SJRA's rodeo season. He competed all year long in the breakaway roping, tie-down calf roping, team roping, ribbon roping and chute dogging.

Blazers win NCAA Division II national softball title
The Valdosta State Blazers are the 2012 NCAA Division II Softball National Champions after an impressive 4-1 victory over defending champion UC San Diego.
