TIFTON — Tift County hosted Coffee in a dual swim meet at the YMCA pool Thursday. After 22 events, Coffee came out on top in both the women’s and men’s divisions.
Points in the men’s competition had Coffee with 121 and Tift with 89, and in the women’s event, the Lady Trojans ended with 117and Tift with 93.
In the 200 yard medley relay, the team of Glendon Harris, Kyle Jacobson, Artemio Gomez, and Hunter Honeycutt earned second place and 10 points for the team and the team of Jonathon Perez, Jack Lee, Demetris Williams, and Tim Borem earned third place and eight points.
In the women’s 200 medley relay the team of Michasia Harris, Anna Johnson, Kendal King, and Mallory Moore, came in second and earned 10 points, and the team of Sarah Harper, Hannah Lee, Kelcie Mclean, and Sarah Johnson came in third with eight points. In the 200-yard freestyle, Glendon Harris and Kendal King both earned five points for their second place finishes.
Hunter Honeycutt earned the team’s only individual first place finishes with his times in the 200 IM and 500 free for a total of 12 team points. Harris earned a second place finish in the 200 IM and the 500 free for 10 team points and Anna Johnson had a fourth place finish in the 500 free earning three points.
Kelcie McLean earned a first place finish in the 100 fly for six team points. In the mens 100 free, Kelly took second, and Jordan came in fourth.
High point individual earners for the team were Michasia Harris with 10 individual points and Honeycutt with 12 points.
The Devils swim team will be back in action on Dec. 5 at the Coffee High Trojan Invitational in Douglas.

Lady Devils play Region 1-AAAAA opener tonight
The Tift County Lady Devils will open up the Region 1-AAAAA basketball tournament tonight at 6 against the Coffee High Lady Trojans.
That game will be followed at 7:30 p.m. by the Colquitt County High Packer-Coffee High Trojan boys contest.
The entire region tournament will be played at the Tift County High Arena. -
Lady Panthers advance to GISA state playoffs
The Tiftarea Lady Panthers will play Stratford Academy in Macon Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. as they advance to the first round of state. Beating Calvary of Columbus Tuesday night, the Lady Panthers had to play the Deerfield Windsor Knights Friday in the region semi-finals held at ABAC.
