TIFTON —
The Tift County Blue Devils will play host to the Shiloh High Generals Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Tift County will enter with a 1-1 record, while Shiloh will come in at 0-1.
Shiloh fell by a 24-6 score last Saturday at Newton County.
While Shiloh fell, the Devils rebounded from a season-opening loss with a 34-7 win over Locust Grove.
Things are continuing to progress, Tift Head Coach Jay Walls feels.
“The week has gone well,” said Walls. “We are getting into good health, and we are in good shape.”
He continued, “We have an even better week of practice than we did last week.
According to the official statistics provided by the Tift coaching staff, the Devils had 367 yards of total offense against Locust Grove.
Freshman quarterback Tadric Jackson was 9-for-17 passing for 100 yards. He also had 112 yards rushing on only eight carries.
Rashad Daniels added 65 yards rushing on 15 carries, while Markeith Hayes rushed for 31 yards on six carries.
While Locust Grove is only in its’ second year of existence as a high school, Shiloh has a long tradition as a high school power.
“They are certainly a better team than Locust Grove,” said Walls. “They have good size, good speed, and they are extremely well-coached.
“Shiloh is a very solid team.”
Some schedules have listed the game at 8 p.m. Friday, but the official starting time is 7:30 p.m.
