TIFTON — Angela Diane Gowen and Bertram Hayes Vinson III, both of Tifton, were united in marriage during a 6 p.m. double-ring, candlelit ceremony Jan, 24, 2009 at The Three Graces at Lankford Manor.
The bride is the daughter of Luther L. Coe II and Linda Diane Palmer, both of Palmetto. The groom is the son of Judy Diane Vinson of Cuthbert and the late Bertram H. Vinson Jr. His grandmother, Mattie Blankenship, was a special guest in attendance.
The outside of The Lankford Manor was covered in purple and white tulle and large purple bows. The walkway was lit with wedding luminaries.
The banquet hall of Lankford Manor served for the ceremony and reception. The bride and groom’s table was set in elegant fashion with a silver champange bucket and silver champange flutes engraved with the names of the bride and groom and the wedding date and embellished with rhinestones. The tables were decorated with silver candle holders and white candles, crystal plates and silver flatware.
Each table in the banquet hall was covered in a white satin tablecloth with a lavendar placemat and a poem written by the bride at each place setting. iredescent wedding confetti and purple and silver Hershey kisses with the wedding date and names of the bride and groom coverd the tables.
The altar area was flanked by two wooden plant holders topped with draping ferns and decorated with purple bows. The bride and groom stood under candlelit chandeliers draped in purple tulle.
Music for the ceremony and reception was a playlist of the bride and groom’s favorite songs of the past and present.
The bride was escorted by her father, Luther L. Coe II, down the grand staircase of The Lankford Manor and into the banquet hall. She wore a white, floor-length, strapless chiffon gown with a chapel train. The dress featured back lacing and pearl and crystal bead embellishments down the sides. She carried a bouquet by Flint River Pottery in Cordele featuring a white canna lily, shades of purple roses and lavender and purple hydrangea. Her “something old and borrowed” was a brooch given to her by her mother. Her “something new” was the necklace and earrings given by her husband and her “something blue” was a blue handkerchief tucked into her bouquet.
RECEPTION
A reception, given by the bride’s mother, was held in the banquet hall of The Lankford Manor following the ceremony.
John Robert Gowen, the bride’s son, and Bertram Hayes Vinson IV, the groom’s son, greeted guests.
The bride’s cake was a three-tiered white cake decorated with purple hearts and live daisies, roses and baby’s breath. It was topped with a crystal “V,” the couple’s initial.
The groom’s cake was a German chocolate sheet cake decorated with the bride and groom’s Army brigade insignias accompanied by toy soldiers.
The couple stayed in the bridal suite at the Lankford Manor on the wedding night and honeymooned at The Old Stone Inn in Waynesville, N.C., traveling to Asheville, N.C. for the Biltmore Estate and the Smokey Mountains. They reside in Tifton where the groom is employed with Behavioral Health Services of Tifton. The bride is employed with Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
