Brandi Michelle Oliver of Tifton and Larry Warren Jr. of Alapaha were united in marriage during a double-ring ceremony at 3 p.m. April 10, 2010 by Pastor Gary Cadwell at Brookfield Baptist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Derek and Debbie Robinson of Tifton and Andy and Joy Oliver of Donalsonville. She is the granddaughter of Ellie Hancock, Janie Oliver and Ed and Laverne Kerr. The groom is the son of Roy and Sheila Hogan of Alapaha and Larry and Clara Warren of Enigma. He is the grandson of Louise Warren.
The church sanctuary was decorated with a silver center candelabrum, two side silver candelabra, a center white column with a flower arrangement of greenery and gerbera daisies to match the bride’s bouquet and a candle arrangement surrounded with greenery and gerbera daisies in each window sill of the church. All the decorating and directing was done by Renee Forston of Ashburn.
Ceremony songs included “When You Say Nothing At All” by Allison Kraus, “History in the Making” by Darius Rucker and “When God Made You” by Newsong, which played during the lighting of the Unity Candle.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Andy Oliver, and stepfather, Derek Robinson. She wore a white wedding gown by Alfred Angelo. The top bodice was heavily beaded with swag at the waist, a satin band with satin pick-up at the bottom and a chapel train with drawstring lace-up. The bottom of the dress was trimmed in lace and scattered with sequins and crystal beads. She wore a tiara and a waist-length white veil with Victorian lace trim. The bride carried a bouquet of full, brightly-colored pink, green, blue and purple gerbera daisies.
For her “something old” she wore a wheat penny in the bottom of her slipper. Her “something new” was her matching necklace, bracelet and earrings. Her “something borrowed” were diamond earrings from her aunt to wear in her second earring holes, and her “something blue” was a blue and white lace garter made by Doris Baldree.
Jodi Robinson, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor with Sarah Oliver, Rachel Oliver and Jessie Oliver, all of Donalsonville, sisters of the bride, and Candi Warren of Alapaha, sister of the groom, serving as bridesmaids.
Larry Warren Sr. of Enigma served as best man with Mike Warren of Alapaha, brother of the groom, Travis Purvis of Lax, cousin of the groom, Jacob Parker of Alapaha and Jim David Gibbs of Ty Ty serving as groomsmen.
Erynn Alison, daughter of Davis and Danielle Allison of Brookfield, served as the flower girl. John Mitchell Davis, son of Michael and Rachel Davis, served as the ring bearer.
RECEPTION
A reception following the ceremony was given by the ladies of Brookfield Baptist Church in the church fellowship hall.
Guests were greeted by the bride and groom and Laura Layfield Clements, friend of the bride, presided at the bride’s book table.
The bride’s cake was a four-tier stacked, hexagon-shaped wedding cake. Each tier was elegantly decorated with ornate scroll and quilt work. Also adorning the cake were gerbera daises to match the bride’s bouquet and the attire of the attendants. Stacey Dillard, cousin of the bride, and Katrina Lawson, friend of the bride presided over the bride’s cake.
The groom’s cake was a two-layered camouflaged red-velvet cake with a hunting scene embellishing it. Both cakes were created by Scott and Gina Chambers of G’s Creations. Kris Heath and Taylor Heath, both friends of the bride and groom, presided over the groom’s cake. Sharon Bromlow and Jill Whitley, both cousins of the bride, presided at the punch table.
Others assisting in the reception included Patsy Mixon and Betty Griner, both aunts of the bride, Linda Mason, Linda Cole and Elizabeth Dillard, all friends of the bride and groom.
The couple honeymooned in Panama City Beach, Fla. The bride and groom both work with the Georgia Department of Transportation. They will reside in Alapaha.
