Daniel, Davis

HARTSFIELD — Kristin Marie Daniel and Wheelus Abel “Trey” Davis III were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. March 20 at Gin Creek in Hartsfield. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. Hale Bishop of Moultrie.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. Ron Daniel and Susan Veal Daniel. She is the granddaughter of Mr and Mrs. Pete Boone of Adel. the late Elton Veal Jr., Myrtice Daniel of Ocilla and the late Lawton Daniel. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wheelus Abel Davis II of Byromville. His grandparents are James Pounds of Ocilla, the late Kathleen Pounds, Dean Davis of Ocilla, the late Wheelus Abel “Cotton” Davis and the late Mildred Davis.

The bride was radiant in a formal-length, strapless gown of diamond-white satin with pearl, Swarovski crystal, and sequin accents and a chapel length train. Her fingertip veil was embroidered with pearls and crystals and attached to a tiara of pearls and crystals. She carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas, roses, and calla lilies with stems wrapped in white satin ribbon.

Paige Crawford, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Shonya Bone and Amber Greenway, sisters of the groom, Stacy Veal, cousin of the bride, Benja Luke and Amanda Hobbs. They wore formal-length stone matte satin dresses with diamond white pleated cummerbund and side drape. Their bouquets consisted of white hydrangeas and roses. Junior bridesmaids were Raven Bone, niece of the groom, and Alyssa Maitland. Their full length diamond white satin gowns featured a sleeveless bodice with full skirt and stone colored sash.   

Honorary bridesmaids included Cathy McIntosh, Amy Williamson, Anna Hall Harper, Jennifer Dorough, and Lacey Staten. Flower girls were Briley Greenway, niece of the groom, and Cara McIntosh. They wore formal length gowns of diamond white organza with jewel neckline and full skirts with organza petals.

Wheelus Abel Davis II served as his son’s best man. The groomsmen were Trent Bone and Brett Greenway, brothers-in-law of the groom, John Crawford, brother-in-law of the bride, Daniel Veal, cousin of the bride and Billy McIntosh. They wore black Calvin Klein two-button, notched lapel tuxedoes. The ring bearer, Gates Bone, nephew of the groom, wore a matching tuxedo.

The brick walkway to the pergola was decorated with shepherd’s hooks and lanterns with a white hydrangeas and satin ribbons. The pergola was decorated with black iron candelabra, palms, ferns, white hydrangeas, and glass bubble containers with tea light candles that were suspended from the top of the pergola. 

Musicians included a cellist and violinist of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra. Justin Crenshaw of Valdosta provided vocals with guitar and keyboard accompaniment.

Marie Taylor and Amelia Paulk presented guests with wedding programs. Julie Facenda attended the Bride’s Book. The Gin Creek Rolls Royce delivered the grandparents, then the mothers of the bride and groom to the wedding site.

The bride, escorted by her father, arrived at the wedding site in a white, horse-drawn carriage. After exchange of the wedding vows and rings, Justin sang “When I Say I Do.” The couple performed a sand ceremony while Justin played the guitar and sang “Love of a Lifetime.” The couple then tossed a floral grapevine wreath into the lake in memory of their late grandparents.

Reception

Upon arrival to the reception, the bridal party was announced to the guests.  The floor of the galleria had a monogrammed disc lighting the floor with the couple’s name and wedding date. The reception was catered by “Ahh-David!” of Valdosta. The presentation included a variety of delicious foods and tall floral centerpieces with mounds of greenery covering the tables. The fruit display was designed and prepared by Mildred Cook of Ocilla. She was assisted by Wilma Paulk of Ocilla.The bride’s three-tiered, square cake with butter cream icing was accented with swirl and dot designs and a “D” monogram. The wedding cake was served by Raye Young and Ginny Paulk of Ocilla and Ruthanne Brown of Orlando, Fla. The groom’s cake, a square, two-tiered, chocolate cake with swirled chocolate frosting and chocolate dipped strawberries, was surrounded with foliage and pine cones.  It was served by Linda Kaye Wingate, Jackie Portivent and Susie Davis, aunts of the groom.

The DJs of Gin Creek provided the music on the deck of the Galleria where the newlyweds had their first dance to “I Thought I Loved You Then.”

Sydney Powell and Brett Cockman, cousins of the bride, distributed wedding favors to the guests. Guests lined the walkway of the galleria with an archway of lighted sparklers as the newlyweds departed.

Following their honeymoon in Jamaica, the couple resides in Tifton.
