TIFTON —
Ashlea Elaine Roberts and Chance Matthew Hand of Hutchinson, Kansas, were united in marriage at a ceremony held Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Tifton. The Rev. Steve Hand officiated the ceremony.
The groom’s parents are Randy and Nancy Hand of Tifton.
The alter was decorated with six large pillars tapering up the alter with tulle flowing down to the ground. A fern sat atop each pillar. There was a large silk arrangement in the center of the alter. The unity candle was handcarved with silk ivy decorating the stand. The side candles were decorated with silk flowers around them. Pianist and sound were Thad and Jan Smith. Singing “I Just Call You Mine,” was Kirsten Underwood, a bridesmaid.
The bride wore a white gown featuring a strapless neckline of pearls and beaded embroidery to the waist. The dress had a chiffon-over-satin split front and metallic embroidery down the split and around the bottom hem. The chapel train flowed down the back with the same metallic embroidery. The bride’s veil was a fingertip-length and made of white tulle with pearls embellishment and satin edging. Her crystal and pearl tiara complemented the headpiece.
The bride’s “something old” and “borrowed” was a coin from the groom’s grandfather. Her “something new” was her dress. Her “something blue” was her garter. She carried a hand-held bouquet of silk roses with crystals and white satin ribbon.
Whitney Emel of Kansas served as maid of honor. Karissa Pankratz of Kansas and Kirsten Underwood of Tifton served as bridesmaids. The bridesmaids wore blue flowered halter-top sundresses with turquoise satin ribbons.
Jace Hampton of Tifton served as bestman with Justin Hand and Tyler Hand, both of Tifton, serving as groomsmen. The groom wore a black suit with a bright blue shirt and matching tie. The groomsmen wore black pants with bright blue shirts.
RECEPTION
Following the ceremony, a reception was given to the couple at the reception hall of the church. The social hall was decorated with ferns and tulle draped throughout the hall.
The wedding guests enjoyed an assortment of hors d’oeuvres from a center-line table.
The three-tiered bride’s cake with buttercream icing was decorated with edible white and blue roses rimmed in blue satin ribbon. A pewter initial “H” was the cake topper. The groom’s cake was a devil’s food cake covered with chocolate frosting and a Tootsie Roll fondant lariat with an “H” in the middle, surrounded with tuxedo strawberries.
The couple left the social hall in a cloud of bubbles on their way to The Three Graces at Lankford Manor for their honeymoon night. They left the next day for a trip to St. Simons Island. The bride and groom live in Hutchinson, Kansas, and attend Hutchinson Community College.
