Death notices for Sept. 7

Elbert Emory Bailey, 72, of Nashville, died Thursday Sept. 6, 2012 at his residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville.

Cloteel Holt Saunders, 84, of Scooterville died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012 at her residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Banks Funeral Home, Sylvester.

Therman Walker, 57, of Washington, D.C., formery of Tifton died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012. Funeral services will be held Saturday at Beulah Hill Baptist Church, with repast to be held at the Neighborhood Service Center. Survivors include a son, Toddrick Roberson; a daughter, Andrea Roberson-Carter; as well as siblings, Bobby Cooper and Mary Jones of Atlanta, Larry Steward of Tifton, the Rev. Herman Walker of Cocoa, Fla., Bishop Walter Walker Jr. of Tifton, the Rev. Foris Walker of Orlando, Fla., Anthony Walker and Nathaniel Varnadoe of Tifton. Condolences may be offered at www.taylorfamilyfuneralservice.com. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to: Tift County NAACP Scholarship Funds, P.O. Box 206, Tifton, GA 31793. Services for the Walker family have been entrusted to Taylor Family Funeral Services.

Bonnie Ruth Neal, 73, of Tifton passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Tifton. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.purvisfh.com. Purvis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangments.

Peggy Ann Hilliard, 76, of Adel passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012 at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at New Life Baptist Church in Adel, with the Rev. Donnie Duncan and Dr. Danny Ray officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel. Survivors include a son, Bruce Hilliard of McDonough; four daughters, Cindy Boykin of Adel, Linda Stripling of Hahira, as well as Brenda Stockdale and Kay Mixon, both of Stockbridge. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com. Boone Funeral Home is serving the Hilliard family.
