OCILLA —
Ocilla police officers are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect wanted for questioning in a rape case.
According to an e-mail from Detective Ashley Jones at the Ocilla Police Department, a woman told officers that two weeks ago, she was approached by an unknown Hispanic man with star tattoos on his neck, who then followed her to several locations before raping her at home.
The Ocilla Police Department is offering a reward of up to $500 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.
The suspect is described as being 5’3” to 5’8” in height with a medium build, medium complexion and close-cut hair. He has three star tattoos on his neck and was driving a black, four-door pickup truck, possibly a Ford, which may be as new as a 2007 model.
Officers are also urging women to be careful and aware of their surroundings. If they are approached by a stranger, they are urged to call 911 immediately.
Anyone with information on the suspect may contact the Ocilla Police Department at 229-468-7494 or 229-468-TIPS.
