SUMNER —
Travis Fletcher, 54, of Sumner, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Banks Funeral Home with interment to follow at Red Oak Cemetery with the Rev. Phil Streetman officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Banks Funeral Home.
Mr. Fletcher was born July 7, 1958 to Clarence Bryce Fletcher and Eva Ruth Monroe Gwaltney in Fayetteville, N.C. He had lived in Worth County most of his life. Mr. Fletcher was the CFO of Visiting Nursing Association Inc. He was a graduate of ABAC and Georgia Southern University where he earned his bachelor's degree. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved his family. Mr. Fletcher was a member of Terrell Baptist Church. Mr. Fletcher was preceded in death by his father, Bryce Fletcher.
Survivors include his wife, Laurel Fletcher of Sumner; children, Erin Page of Sumner, Ethan Page of Sumner; grandson, Seth Reid of Sumner; his mother, Eva Fletcher-Gwaltney (Javy) of Sylvester; and a sister, Kandus Mercer of Sylvester.

Two from Tift named 1st team All-Region
The Tift County Blue Devils, who were only just barely eliminated in the state quarterfinals, placed two players on the All-Region team for 1-AAAAAA. The region, which sent three teams to the elite eight in the state tournament, named Lowndes’ Danny Redshaw Coach of the Year.
