NASHVILLE —
Edward Beauren Jacobs Jr., of Nashville, died Thursday July 12, 2012 in Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at Glory Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday at Lovein Funeral Home.
He was born Nov. 4, 1938 in Berrien County to the late Edward Beauren Jacobs and the late Eunice Grantham. He was a retired farmer and member of Glory United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Stephens Jacobs, who died in 1995; a grandson, Brandon Jacobs; a sister, Wydene Giddens, and a stepson, Danny Watkins.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Jacobs of Nashville; three daughters, Freida Hall of Tifton, Teresa Stoner of Alapaha and Cindy Willis of Alapaha; two sons, Floyd Jacobs of Alapaha and Michael Jacobs of Willacoochee; three sisters, Wylene Hughes of Longwood, Fla., Geraldine Phillips of Longwood, Fla., and Barbara Brogdon of Valdosta; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Cretia LeBlanc of Tifton; two stepsons, Stoney Watkins of Spartanburg, S.C., and Philip Watkins of Vernon, Ala.; and 11 step-grandchildren.
Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville is in charge of arrangements.

County millage rate remains same
Tift County Commissioners voted unanimously in a called meeting Tuesday to keep the millage rate set at 12.183 for both incorporated and unincorporated areas of the county.

I was able to take a trip down to Tampa this past weekend with my mom to see my niece in her dance recital.We didn’t get to see her dance in her recital. She kept saying she was sick, and we all kept saying, “You’ll be OK...it’s just nerves.”
