Emma Lane Herrin Paulk Rigdon, 92, of Tifton died Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with Leeann Culbreath officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. until the time of service in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors.
Born in Millwood, Dec. 6, 1919, to the late Leander and Emma Herrin Vickers, she was a homemaker and, throughout her life, was an active volunteer in many church and community activities. She was predeceased by her first husband, Ellison Paulk of Alapaha and her second husband, Ed Rigdon of Tifton.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Dan Corrie and many beloved nieces and nephews and their children.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wiregrass Farmers Market at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture, 1392 Whiddon Mill Rd., Tifton GA 31793 to the attention of Polly Huff.

“Keep calm and stop the violence,” “Save our streets” and “No more violence” were the words echoed by Eighth Street Middle School students early Tuesday morning as they stood in front of the school behind caution tape and orange cones, shouting and holding up signs as they waved at passing motorists who smiled and returned the gesture.

Two from Tift named 1st team All-Region
The Tift County Blue Devils, who were only just barely eliminated in the state quarterfinals, placed two players on the All-Region team for 1-AAAAAA. The region, which sent three teams to the elite eight in the state tournament, named Lowndes’ Danny Redshaw Coach of the Year.
