Russell Warren “Russ” Carns, 21, of Ty Ty died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with the Rev. Andy Ring officiating. Burial will follow at Omega Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 tonight at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors.
Trevor Thornhill, Chance Owens, Brett Cravey, Josh Miller, Curt Owen, Clint Kendrick and Clint Lawson will serve as pallbearers.
Russ was born Jan. 2, 1991 in Tifton to Ron and Rose Warren Carns, both of whom survive and reside in Ty Ty. He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Wayne and Jo Carns; his maternal great-grandfather, Mr. Willard Dunn; and his uncle, Mike Carns.
Russ graduated with the Tift County High School Class of 2009, where he was a member of the wrestling team and the Tift County 4-H Club shotgun team. He also was a graduate of Moultrie Technical College in 2011. He enjoyed hunting, working on the farm, driving tractors and being outside. Russ worked as a plumber at Central Plumbing and had previously worked at Ty Ty Peanut Co. and Sweet Dixie Melon Co. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Russ is survived by a brother, Ross Carns of Ty Ty; his maternal grandparents, Wayne and Norma Jean Warren of Omega; his uncle, Steve Warren of Albany; his maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Willard (Gwynett) Dunn of Tifton; close uncles and aunts, Dwight and Joni Dunn and Johnny and Kay Dunn, all of Tifton; several very close cousins; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends.
