Elton Singletary, 72 of Adel died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Beulah Holiness Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Mathews and the Rev. Donnie Sloan officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the church cemetery with the Rev. Fred Evers and the Rev. Robert Winter officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Purvis Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Sue Singletary of Adel; daughters, Amber Sue Singletary of Tifton, and Glenda Singletary; one brother, Donnie Singletary of Hinesville; and one sister, Shirley Brown of McCrae. Sarah McKay, 79, of Lenox died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Life Ministries, 211 Spring Hill Church Rd. with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family viewing will be held from noon until 1 p.m. today and the public viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. at Eagles Wings Judah Worship Center (formerly Southern Avenue Church of God,) 2914 Southern Ave. A repast will be held at the church annex. She is survived by her husband, George McKay of Lenox; son, George McKay Jr.; daughters, Brenda Alexander and Carrie Wilson; and a sister, Virginia Graham. The remains are entrusted to the care and custody of Melton Funeral Home.

Ernie Banks used to say, "let's play two." In a game that was as long as two and was defined early on by errors and later by a pitching duel, it would be offense that propelled the Tattnall Square Trojans past the Tiftarea Academy Panthers, 6-2 in 14 innings. Tattnall, who won the first game of the series, 4-1 before dropping game two, 6-3, will meet Mount de Sales in the Class AAA semifinals next week.
