TIFTON —
The Tiftarea Panthers had a short night of work Thursday against the Citizens Christian Academy Patriots, blasting their opponents 15-0. The Panthers were not on the field long. The game only lasted three innings before being stopped by the mercy rule. Tiftarea was scheduled to play Deerfield-Windsor in Albany Friday. They will next be in action on Tuesday, March 26 at Brookwood School at 4:30 p.m. Their next home game will be Thursday, March 28 against Frederica Academy at 4:30.
On Tuesday, the Panthers blasted the Southland Academy Raiders, 10-0, in their first region game of the season. Freshman Bo Vickers struck out seven while only giving up four hits.
Greer Howard had three hits, including a bases-clearing triple. Dustin McAlpin also hit a solo homerun. Tiftarea scored eight in the second inning.

County millage rate remains same
Tift County Commissioners voted unanimously in a called meeting Tuesday to keep the millage rate set at 12.183 for both incorporated and unincorporated areas of the county.

I was able to take a trip down to Tampa this past weekend with my mom to see my niece in her dance recital.We didn’t get to see her dance in her recital. She kept saying she was sick, and we all kept saying, “You’ll be OK...it’s just nerves.”
