Panthers claw Citizens Christian

TIFTON — The Tiftarea Panthers had a short night of work Thursday against the Citizens Christian Academy Patriots, blasting their opponents 15-0. The Panthers were not on the field long. The game only lasted three innings before being stopped by the mercy rule. Tiftarea was scheduled to play Deerfield-Windsor in Albany Friday. They will next be in action on Tuesday, March 26 at Brookwood School at 4:30 p.m. Their next home game will be Thursday, March 28 against Frederica Academy at 4:30.

On Tuesday, the Panthers blasted the Southland Academy Raiders, 10-0, in their first region game of the season. Freshman Bo Vickers struck out seven while only giving up four hits.

Greer Howard had three hits, including a bases-clearing triple. Dustin McAlpin also hit a solo homerun. Tiftarea scored eight in the second inning.
