Vicie Roach, 79, of Sparks, passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Concord Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Wendell Horten officiating. The interment will be held in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. tonight at Purvis Funeral Home. Survivors include her sons, Roger Roach of Sparks, Ricky Roach of Nashville and Dean Roach of Alapaha; one brother, Charles Roberts of Sparks; and one sister, Mattie Exum of Sparks. Emma Lane Rigdon, 92, of Tifton, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors. County millage rate remains same
Tift County Commissioners voted unanimously in a called meeting Tuesday to keep the millage rate set at 12.183 for both incorporated and unincorporated areas of the county.

I was able to take a trip down to Tampa this past weekend with my mom to see my niece in her dance recital.We didn’t get to see her dance in her recital. She kept saying she was sick, and we all kept saying, “You’ll be OK...it’s just nerves.”
