IRWIN COUNTY —
Jimmie M. Kelly, 78, of Irwin County died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Eureka Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Cummings officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Russell Gay, Carl Gay, Glen Tucker, Ronny McCurdy, Frank Tucker and Floyd Tucker. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Kelly was born on Aug. 24, 1933 in Douglas. She was the daughter of the late Warren and Dora Mae Smith Fletcher. She returned to Irwin County in 1993 from Jacksonville, Fla., where she had worked at King Edward Cigar Company. Mrs. Kelly was a member of the Waterloo Homemaker’s Club. She was also a member of Irwinville United Methodist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Kelly; a sister, Alejo Moore; and a niece, Jo Karen Cox.
Mrs. Kelly is survived by her sister, Karleen Lane of Irwin County; nieces and nephews, Warena Youmans, Kimberly Youmans, Beth Youmans Vowell and Gary Vowell, Eric Cox, Heather Cox Butler and Chris Butler, Jay and Melissa Youmans and Gary Cox and Diane Cox; and many great-nieces and nephews.

Tidal Wave takes third triumph at Georgia Games

Southern problems...some folks got’em
I was able to take a trip down to Tampa this past weekend with my mom to see my niece in her dance recital.We didn’t get to see her dance in her recital. She kept saying she was sick, and we all kept saying, “You’ll be OK...it’s just nerves.”
