WILLACOOCHEE —
Maedell Duggan Conger, 82, of Willacoochee, died Friday evening at her home following an extended illness.
A native of Tifton, Mrs. Conger had made her home in Willacoochee for many years. She was born Sept l5, l929, daughter of Noah and Ida Lee Thompson Duggan. She was a homemaker but had worked for many years as a seamstress. She was a member of the Willacoochee Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Conger; a grandson, Gregory Alton Conger, and four brothers, Jim Duggan, J. B. Duggan, Cecil Duggan and Gene Duggan.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Luke and husband Ottis of Willacoochee; three sons, Charles Conger Jr. and wife Margaret, Clarence Conger and wife Carolyn and Jerry Lee Conger and wife Pat, all of Willacoochee; Martha Kirkpatrick, who she raised as a daughter, and husband Felton of Cochran; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Conger will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Willacoochee Church of God with the Rev. Leland Watson, the Rev. Levi Jones, the Rev. Brad Luke, the Rev. Danny Ray and the Rev. Daniel Sansot officiating. The interment will follow at Willacoochee City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 tonight at Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson.
