TIFTON —
The Tift County Blue Devils dropped their final game in the City of Palms tournament Friday, 59-43, but the Lady Devils made it three-in-a-row against Seabreeze, Fla. Saturday.
The Lady Devils defeated Seabreeze, who are from Daytona Beach, 67-51. Dee Dee DeShazer and Brakia Bateman tied for top scoring honors with 15. Brecklyn Greene also contributed 10.
Against Callaway of Jackson, Miss., the Devils played three tight quarters before seeing it slip away in the fourth. They were down only 32-30 going into the final stanza, but were outscored 27-13.
Tadric Jackson led the way with 17 points while Brannen Greene scored 16. No other Devils had more than three points.
The junior varsity Lady Devils also enjoyed their final game in Florida, defeating Seabreeze, 58-11. Two Tift players personally outscored their opponents, Vanity Golson with 14 and Tatianya Smith had 12.

Proud of diamond accomplishments of Devils, Panthers
Tift County almost pulled off an incredible feat this year, having two teams in the baseball quarterfinals.. It was a great year for baseball at all area schools, all eight of them in the postseason. Both Kyle Kirk's Tift County Blue Devils and Brad Porter's Tiftarea Academy Panthers came within an eyelash of doing even better: the final four.
