TIFTON —
Four Tifton men have been arrested and charged with Tuesday night’s armed robbery of the J&M Food Mart, located in the 1300 block of Highway 82 East.
According to the incident report filed at the Tift County Sheriff’s Office, the armed robbery occurred at approximately 9:57 p.m. Tuesday.
Maj. Bobby Brannen at the TCSO said cash was taken from the register, along with a carton of cigarettes. He stated that there were at least two people in the store when the armed robbery occurred. No injuries were reported.
Brannen said during the investigation, deputies, with assistance from officers with the Tifton Police Department, were able to recover the cash, the carton of cigarettes, a firearm and clothing matching the description of the suspects.
Shortly after the incident at the store, the suspects were located and arrested on Tifton-Eldorado Road.
Tavarus Brown, 18, of Tifton; Raheem Devontaye Bryant, 19, of Tifton; Ambritt Demarkez Milton, 20, of Tifton; and Howard Wright Jr., 17, of Tifton were all charged with armed robbery.
Inv. Adam Tanner and Lt. Chad Davis at the TCSO worked this case.
“Everyone worked together and did a great job,” Brannen said.

Tiftarea-Tattnall split
The quarterfinals series between the Tiftarea Academy Panthers and defending state Class AAA champions Tattnall Square Trojans matched up two of the top teams in the state and after two games, the battle has been a stalemate. The Trojans won the first game 4-1, while the Panthers took game two, 6-3. Game three will be today at 2 p.m.
