Anna Mae Taylor Keith Powell, 70, of Omega, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with the Rev. Walter Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Omega City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:30 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
Steven Keith, Bobby Blanchard, Bubba Blanchard, Ray Pharr, Mark Keith, Bud Hutchinson and Taylor Mothershed will serve as pallbearers.
Born May 11, 1942, in Guin, Ala., to the late Clarence Fredrick Taylor and Edgar Wilson Taylor, Mrs. Powell was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Averitt “Bob” Powell, who died November 22, 2012; two brothers, Bobby Taylor and Gene Taylor; and one sister, Gail Childers.
Mrs. Powell graduated from Omega High School. She was a retired federal and state agriculture inspector and had served as the City Clerk of Omega in the 1960’s. After her retirement, Mrs. Powell was a housewife and homemaker. She was a Red Cross blood donor and enjoyed socializing with her friends and fishing. Mrs. Powell was of the Methodist faith.
Mrs. Powell is survived by her son, Steve Keith of Omega; her stepchildren, Janice and Joe Linder of Norman Park, and Eddie Lee Powell and Linda Boyette of Omega; one sister and brother-in-law, Omie Lee and Cecil Hutchinson of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, Edwin and Anita Taylor of Savannah; her grandchildren, Mandy and Bobby Blanchard, Steven Keith, Beth and Justin Golden, Bert Linder, Lee and Jessica Powell, and Chris and Jackie Powell; her great-grandchildren, Kristina and Taylor Mothershed, Dusty and Dustin “Bubba” Blanchard, Jud and Bo Golden and Sumner and Mary Bella Powell; two sisters-in-law, Clara Taylor of Tifton and Martha Taylor of Monticello, Fla.; one brother-in-law, Richard Childers of Douglas; and many nieces and nephews.
