ABAC took third place in men’s singles and men’s doubles competition at the USTA/ITA National Small College Championships held in Mobile, Ala.
Oliver Snaider, seeded third, won his first round match in straight sets against Darryl Hale, Jr. of Holmes, 6-1, 6-2. He next faced top-seeded Adrien Berkowicz (Tyler Junior College) and fell in two sets, 6-3, 6-3.
Snaider would rebound Friday when he defeated Seminole State’s Tendai Tapfuma, 6-2, 6-2, to secure third place.
Snaider would team with Ricky Symanski in doubles competition and they would take home another third place trophy.
In their opening match, they defeated Joshua Coleman and Ryan Hoverson of Cowley, 6-0, 6-2. They would be defeated in the semifinals by Donovan McSeveney and Brady Bohrenstedy of Collin College, 6-1, 6-2, but Snaider would get revenge for his singles defeat when the duo defeated Berkowicz and Jacob Rother, 6-2, 7-5.
